Over 4 days in November 2017, local artists and art enthusiasts joined director Sophia Kruz for a screening of her documentary film Little Stones, art lectures, and an art symposium called the Little Stones Project. I was asked to make a community involved mosaic mural project for Bend, Oregon, that was inspired by the film. The film was about 4 women around the world that use art to create positive change in their communities.
My concept drawing for the mosaic mural below, represents an abstract ripple showing how I want my art to be an inspiration for people in my community to discover their own power to create change in the world and how their own unique skills and talents can make continuous ripples of change within their community if they just start with a “little stone”.
