“Seat in Paradise” bench – Vitreous Glass tile, stained glass, concrete, 15” x 42” x 3”

In 2013, I was hired by a store owner to create a mosaic concrete bench for his business for people to sit on outside in the planting strip by his produce stand.  The design was to be informed by his logo.

 

My “Seat in Paradise” bench is a 42” concrete bench inlaid with vitreous glass tile and stained glass.  I created a very colorful design to mimic his logo for the produce stand.  I used classical and some contemporary mosaic andamento to give it a more modern feel and make the bench have rhythm and movement.
