“Secret Garden” mural

Production by True and 6 apprentices

 

After my apprenticeship in New Orleans in January 2014 with Laurel True fabricating the Secret Garden mural, she invited me to be on her installation team for the mosaic in Sausalito, CA.  She had cut the completed mural into sections, packed it into a pallet and shipped it to California.

 

Artists, Kate Zimmer, and Mario Jeudi from Haiti whom I shared the apprenticeship in New Orleans with when building the mural rounded out the installation team. We spent 4 days setting up, laying out, mortaring, grouting, and sealing the beautiful mosaic made of porcelain tile.
